Had an idea for a different style of tournament. In this tourney attacks on live players would be forbidden and players would have to win by building their economies and colonizing. You could attack AI's but attacking another player would be grounds for disqualification. I see this as a single game tournament for 10 to 12 players but it could be expanded if there is enough interest. I don't know if there is any interest in this idea but I guess the only way to find out is to ask.

This would need to be done on a Randomized Terra Incognita map. Otherwise, those players spawning next to an AI controlled major power would be at a significant production advantage.
As one who primarily considers himself an economic and colonial player, I am in favor of such a tournament. -

I just realised that we could add a different level of challenge - the whole world is unexplored and somewhere is a flag... he who reaches the flag first wins... provided he/she can hold on to it for 5 days.

If you have enough players commited we can arrange your own personal games like that.
We cannot make everything unexplored as it will be set to standard, but I can determain an un-biased location, create a normal map (incognito as requested). You can also set the country selection to random to spice it up.
