Money income/taxes going down?

Hi i'm kinda new to the game and for about 6 days I have built markets everywhere, some harbors, stuff to increase my economy etc. So everything was going good until I noticed that my money income was decreased by almost 100, which I didn't worry much about but then the next day it decreased to 692. From 890 to 700 something and then to 692. I'm not sure if this is a game mechanic or do I have to build economical buildings to keep it active or whatever. If anyone knows how to stop this, please reply.

Some buildings and all military units need monetary upkeep, like Colonial Office.

Also, if happiness goes down due warfare, income qand productivity falls. Check if you dont have many open wars - typical newbie mistake of not closing the wars.

I'm only in 1 war which i'm about to end soon, so I doubt that's the problem. My morale is fine, it's only increasing in the invaded provinces.
P.S : Just noticed that my units are using daily 2k upkeep, which seems like that was the problem.

Hello,

When I checked your rounds I found no error or bug.

Mercenary troops have a VERY high money upkeep.

If you mouse over the Money resource in your top bar it will make a tooltip popup that lists all your upkeep affecting income.

Colony Offices also eat a lot of money.

Those can be disabled when you are not using them, same goes for Barrack & Mercenary Camps.

Disable them after you are done producing units and enable them just before you want to train new units.

Best way to increase ur income is to chose a few provinces and to core them as high as possible. Few high provinces give u more output, than many lowlvl ones.

I focus my markets, harbors a.s.o. on the provincs lvl 6 and higher. In lower ones they arent very effective. Its better to use the rescources than for coring.

As far that so many people have problems with the economy and the coring im thinking about creating a tutorial game like "The Art of War-for big and small dictators"

That is a reasonable idea unless you are short already in food, goods, or lux items as the city grows those are the daily support items so you may think you don't need Lux right away, you sorely need it in later stages. The key is balance and sometimes realizing that one thing has to wait for another thing to be fixed first. The commodities are all interlinked and the devil is in the details of cause and effect.
